A shocking story has surfaced out of Lenexa, Kansas, where an armed thug ran into a Costco store brandishing a firearm. Now, the story has gone viral after the punk got a horrific surprise that he never expected, and rightfully so. Karma definitely had this lowlife’s number.
According to Blue Lives Matter, the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2017. As hundreds of Costco members went about their holiday shopping, police say that 58-year-old Ronald Hunt barged into the store brandishing a firearm and yelling. This thug’s decision to threaten innocent people with his gun could not have been more wrong. By the time he saw the good guy with a gun, it was too late for him.
According to local news source Fox4, Hunt sent hundreds of shoppers scattering and running for their lives except for one man. Kansas City Kansas Police Captain Michael Howell was shopping that day and had a brutal surprise for the armed thug. Howell, a 22-year police veteran, confronted the suspect and made quick use of the firearm he was carrying. After identifying himself as law enforcement, Howell engaged Hunt in a gunfight. Unsurprisingly, Hunt lost as a thug is no match for our trained law enforcement officers.
Howell opened fire on the suspect and dropped him to the ground. According to police, Hunt was declared dead on the scene and no one else was injured during the shootout thanks to Captain Howell. Lenexa Police Captain Wade Borchers said that Captain Howell “was shopping and just happened to be there when all of this occurred.”
Witnesses inside the store said they heard six to eight shots come from Hunt’s firearm. They described him as a white man in his 50’s to 60’s, wearing camo-colored clothing. “I don’t know what his intent was, but before anything really bad could happen, he was stopped,” Capt. Borchers told KCTV.
Ryan Vacca, who works at the Costco store, said, “I was working at the photo center, I was working on a photo scan, and I was looking at the computer screen, and then I heard some commotion happening around me,” according to Fox4.
Vacca also recalled, “And I turned and looked at the front door and saw a guy walking in just kind of yelling and screaming. One of my co-workers told me to drop, and I did.” Vacca and all of the other innocent bystanders in the store were lucky that Captain Howell was there. Who knows what Hunt might have done if he wasn’t stopped by a good guy with a gun, who also happens to be a cop.
Oddly enough, it is against Costco’s corporate policy for anyone to carry firearms in their stores. However, Kansas state law requires a sign to be posted outside establishments which prohibit firearms. According to Fox4, the Costco in Lenexa, Kansas, does not have any sign of that nature posted. After this shocking incident, I think Costco may want to reevaluate their policy. Captain Howell is a hero, and thank goodness, he was carrying his firearm that day.
The liberal media is going to hate this story for the pure fact that it involves a cop saving innocent people with a gun while he was off-duty. I’m sure they will find a way to make Hunt look like the victim by interviewing his family and friends, but we know the truth.
Captain Howell deserves a tremendous amount of gratitude for risking his own life while he was off-duty in order to save the lives of innocent people. Despite what the liberal media may say about the incident, Hunt got exactly what he deserved and is solely responsible for his own death.
As for Costco and companies like them, it’s time to rethink their anti-gun policies. Obviously, it did nothing to keep a criminal from threatening innocent shoppers. Had Captain Howell not been armed, I shudder to think what may have occurred. If you’re tired of anti-gun policies making innocent people sitting ducks in public places where masses gather, share this on social media with a shoutout to Costco and tell them it’s a damn good thing a good guy had a gun in their store.
